Weekend Getaway...
I don't know about you but with the pregnancy I haven't been the most social butterfly out there. Being in big crowds bothers me more than ever before! Well, let's be honest I have never been a big-crowd person but I could handle it here and there. Now... not a chance! I can't stand being in a crowed city in the hot summer. Did I mention we live in New York City? What about... Did I mention we live in Midtown ? Yeah, a very crowed place. I have to say I am a very lucky gal. My friend David has a beautiful country house in up-state NY and he lets us stay there anytime we want. Isn't he so nice? I think so! Being able to go up-state is just fantastic. Everything tastes better. The fruit, the meat, the milk, literally everything. Breathing fresh air, waking up with the birds, having breakfast outdoors listening to cows( instead of cars and firetrucks) is my kind of getaway. If you are not that lucky of having a place to stay, don't worry they are many beautiful places to stay, enjoy the town and outdoor trails. My favorite town is Millerton, NY. Great Food, Antique stores and if you are into teas they have a big Harney and Sons shop.
My favorite Millerton Places:
- Number 9 restaurant & Inn
- Oakhurst Diner
- Harney and Sons
- 52 Main (Tapas place)
- Rail Trail
- Herondale Farm (if you want to stock up with great local meat)
- Pigasso Farm
- Hillrock Estate Distillery ( Great for the big boys. You get to tour, taste and learn about whisky)
Chilling at the pond / Having breakfast with the birds and the cows / Sunset dipping with the Beaver / Saving a baby turtle / My personal chef / Pond time
